I am gobsmacked by endless advocacy and marketing--promising well-intentioned and research driven business objectives. Chronic diseases are going to bankrupt Medicare/Medicaid to say nothing of the rest of us saddled with escalating premiums and the threat of rolling back healthcare access and quality.
We have turned our declining health in senescence purple and pink-washed cancer while ignoring upstream modifiable correlates of health. Denying climate change, the influence of water and air toxicity, and lobbying to line the pockets of the companies below--we can't afford to pretend solutions are innovation and more investments in pharmaceutical interventions. We will never out innovate our biology--at least not in a sustainable way.
Oxfam has a website where it is possible to view the impact of global pressure on food policy. Go ahead and look your favorite brands--and then vote with your wallet.
