We are scheduling our 2020 event and I am sure seats will fill up fast...
This year we are joined by Amy Herman a brilliant art historian and "recovering" attorney.
We are doing it again and inviting you to join us:
April 3rd (Friday) and 4th (Saturday) on Bald Head Island (event locations will be forthcoming)
Since its inception in 2000, the Art of Perception® has successfully trained thousands of leaders in a broad range of fields, including, among others, law enforcement, intelligence, medicine, information technology, and education, as well as those in financial services, pharmaceuticals, and crisis management.
Here is an excerpt from Amy Herman's Art of Perception Seminar. I imagine we begin here and see where our collective energy and individual interests guide us.
The Art of Perception® is unique, offering a highly participatory professional development program:
In a location setting, such as BHI," original works of art and photographs are used to prompt dialogue and in-depth analysis of issues related to participants' professions and to uncover and address biases, assumptions, and other ethical challenges in today's diverse work environments.
No knowledge of art or art history is required. Whether offered in an art museum (where group size is limited) or using high quality, digital reproductions on-site, observation, analysis, and discussion of these images affords participants opportunities to apply newly honed skills to scenarios and circumstances encountered in professional contexts.
Participants' evaluate their own visual acuity in oral and written exercises throughout the seminar. Additionally, at the end, they have the opportunity to assess the relevance, applicability, and value of the course—both short-term and long-term—to their own work."
We offer 2 options--the Friday night only gathering where we talk with Amy about the Art of Perception, interact with images, and network. Or the weekend event with both Friday and a Saturday night morning session where we can roll up our sleeves and participate with written and oral exercises in addition to ongoing conversation and exploration.
Join us for both Friday Night event and Saturday's discussion and hands-on workshop
Saturday's 4-hour workshop will help to guide our writing and creative life as we "reconsider our skills of critical inquiry and articulation".
Amy will illustrate how we can enhance the effectiveness of our work as we bring our individual projects to the session for guided and independent review and inquiry.
Friday night only: Join us for a casual meet and greet followed by a moderated discussion with light bites and wine
